As anyone who reads the news can imagine, things have been very quiet lately in the realm of Iran tourism, at least as far as Americans are concerned. We have begun to branch out to offer tours to the Caucasus – Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan – as well as to Ethiopia, probably the most interesting country in Africa.
At the same time, we have not given up on sending Americans to Iran. We learned today that the Iranian government is still granting visas to American tourists.
Believe it or not, Iran is one of the safest places in the world for Americans (and others) to travel to and is also a country where individual Americans are extremely (and counter-intuitively) popular.
This has been a tough time for our business. But we are not giving up on Iran. Trump will not be in office for ever and we hope that eventually things will change for the better.
